August Favourites 2016

We are almost at the ninth month of the year! That’s so scary it just seems like yesterday I was getting ready for summer and lusting over a holiday, next I’ll be thinking about Christmas! (Lol I think I’m getting way ahead of myself) today I have my August favourites this month I actually have a few new things and some old things that I have been loving.

First thing is a joint favourite because it’s actually two products

I love the Benefit Watt’s up highlighter because it gives a beautiful champagne glow that looks natural. I have been pairing it with the highlighter from the Urban Decay Flushed palette in NATIVE. This has been my go to highlight it just looks so stunning and glowy but in a way still looks natural (not really natural but still stunning!). I have been wearing this combo non-stop for a month.

I have been looking for a concealer to cover up my blemishes, so I don’t have to use up my Urban Decay Naked skin concealer so fast. I didn’t get on with the collection lasting prefection concealer, but I really like the Seventeen Stay Time concealer in EXTRA FAIR. This is near enough my skin tone so doesn’t make blemishes stand out and really does cover redness but lasts all day too. Costs less than five pounds! it’s also light enough to use under the eyes and no drying.

The mascara that I have been using this month is the Kiko Luxurious Lashes maxi brush mascara. This mascara has a huge wand that gives you lots of volume but lashes are still defined. Also the packaging looks so fancy. It’s just been my go-to that I find is great for everyday.

The Real Techniques setting brush has been frequently used this month by me. It is the perfect shape to fit under the eyes for blending out concealer, using for highlight or my preferred way setting my under eyes. Also I have been setting my T-zone and nose aswell with mattifying powder with this brush as it’s shape and size is perfect for setting a particular spot on your face.

I was not looking into getting the Benefit Gimme Brow as I thought drugstore products can be just as good. I was so wrong. The brush is just perfect and gets every single hair on my brows. This makes my brows look thicker and keeps them locked in place all day. If your thinking about getting it definitely gives this a try.

I love face masks I feel they keep my skin in top form, Mask of Magnaminty by lush is one of my all time favs. Its so relaxing and cooling on the face because of the mint. I leave this on for ten minuets and when I take it off my face tingles and feels fresh and looks healthy. I used this twice a week for this whole month and I can really see a difference in my skin.

Yankee Candle Vanilla Cupcake candle is the most delicious candle of all time, I love sweet smells and this really does smell like a vanilla frosted cupcake (yummm!) I got this at the very start of the month and I have burned it almost everyday, it fills the room with an amazing smell that does last a while after you have blown it out.

Last but not least is Makeup Geek eyeshadow in Homecoming, I have still been into everyday just putting one shade of eyeshadow on my lid and blending it out. I like this because it’s super quick and simple for when I’m in a rush and I need to get out the door. Homecoming is a beautiful taupe/bronze shade that is very buttery and easy to apply and blend.

I’ve heard so many great things about Yankee Candles but I honestly just haven’t got around to trying them yet. Vanilla Cupcake sounds so good though!
