Carry-on Essentials

Hi, I’m off on holiday in less than two weeks! I’ve started to organise my suitcase and carry-on bag to make sure I have everything that I need. I don’t know about you but I get so stressed out about forgetting something, so today I wanted to focus on the carry-on bag and essentials to remember.

Skincare. I don’t wear makeup on a flight or put it on before I leave the flight, instead, I like to focus on skincare. To clean and freshen up my face I like to use micellar wipes, then I will put on a rich moisturiser or an SPF and lip balm. If I’m on a long-haul flight I will put on a hydrating sheet mask.

Entertainment. One thing I never forget is my headphones, I would literally cry if I forgot them as listening to music is how I survive flights. Another way I like to keep myself occupied waiting for or during a flight is reading a book. I also like to read when I’m relaxing so bringing a book on holiday is a must. Nexflix is another must have for any travel, I like to download a few episodes of the series I’m watching for the plane, this really helps time go-in fast and take your mind off of thing if you’re scared of flying. Because I will use my phone a lot A portable charger is a lifesaver.

Keep it cosy. Sometimes planes are so cold, so an essential for me is a hoodie or jumper. Jumpers also keep you cosy if you want to take a nap on the plane or waiting for a delayed flight. Sunglasses are always in my carry-on especially if I’m going somewhere sunny. I also pack extra underwear and possibly a  bikini, just in case the worst should happen and my luggage doesn’t turn up.

Extras to remember. A water bottle is definitely essential, you can fill it up after security so you can save a little money and refill when you want.  Hairpins and bobbles are always something I forget but they do come in handy if you want your hair out of the way while doing skincare or makeup. Hand gel is very important and easy to use when you’re in a hurry, anti-bacterial wipes are always in my bag, planes aren’t the cleanest so I always wipe down the tray and any buttons at my seat I might use (I might be a bit OTT) Glossier pink ziplock bags are great to have on-hand for toiletries and makeup, the extra cushion helps give me peace of mind that my highlighters and powders (hopefully) won’t smash.
