Go-to look: Everyday Smokey

Hi

Today I’m doing the next part in my blog series, Go-to look. This time it’s a look I probably wear the most, everyday smokey look. This look is perfect for everyday and looks like you have made more effort than your everyday look but still super simple, and is a great alternative to a full on smokey eye. Everyday smokey look is one of my favourites for casual days and shopping trips and can easily be wore with any lipstick or lipgloss you like.

The base I personally like to keep it fresh and dewy, I always use a light foundation and my favourite is the Stila Aqua Glow serum foundation in the shade FAIR. It’s light and looks like second skin, not to mention it’s very dewy.

For highlight my must at the moment is the Urban Decay Afterglow 8 hour highlighter in the shade SIN, I love this it is very full on but you can use it for everyday with a light hand (or if you’re me full on everyday😉) it’s a beautiful champagne gold. I wear this on my brow bone, corner of the eyes, cheekbones and down the centre of my nose. Using the same highlight for your entire face I feel really helps bring the look together. For blush I like to go for a peach/coral blush, my favourite one is the Nars Daul-intensity blush in the shade FRENZY. This is a gorgeous blush and really makes your skin glow and look healthy, it has a tiny amount of shimmer. It not super pigmented but can be built.

For eyes it has to be the Urban Decay Naked palette, this is my must have eyeshadow palette of all time. If I’m going for this look I like to reach for this palette, my everyday smokey eye look is the shade NAKED in my crease, BUCK in the crease to deepen it up. Then the Shade HALF-BAKED all over the lid, I take SMOG and put this on my outer-v and blend, finally I take DARKHORSE and smudge this along my lash line. Not all the time but occasionally I will put on eyeliner too, my favourite is Benefit They’re Real push-up liner to create a small wing. Lashes are essential for everyday and especially with this look I curl my lashes then I apply two coats of Max Factor Voluptuous False Lash Effect mascara.

Lipstick or lip gloss can be anything you like, even bold with this type of look as it’s not as full on as a normal smokey eye. My go-to is Mac’s PATISSERIE as it is a mauve, slightly glossy and has a little bit of sparkle. Also if you want your eye look to last all day always wear a primer. The lorac Behind The Scenes eye primer is great to stop oils and keep your look from creasing.
