Blemishes are the worst to cover, I find with liquid concealers they never seem to cover the redness, or just wear off after an hour. I bought the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer because of the reviews, I wanted a bullet proof concealer (that’s all!) I don’t like to wear heavy foundation and I only get the odd blemish (the really sore red ones) so I like doing the pinpoint covering technique. I just take a very small brush, usually a lip brush, and I carefully cover the blemish. I find by doing this my skin looks natural and less cakey. Here’s what I thought about the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer…
This I have to say is expensive, for £38 you get a tiny little pot. But it is extremely pigmented. A pin head amount can cover even the most stubborn of spots. A little does go a very long way, at first I was shocked at the size but when I started using it I realised it’s going to take me a long time to use it all up.
It’s thick and creamy and super pigmented, so if you like your concealer to be as full coverage as it can get this is certainly for you. But it’s not just a concealer it can be a foundation, a tinted moisturiser, even a cream contour. The beauty of this product is that it is super multitasking, mix it in with your primer, moisturiser and even eye cream to have your own custom product. It can also create the dreaded cake face, so beware when using it not to use too much, again I love the pinpoint concealing, and if I have dark circles when I’ve had a sleep deprived night, mixing it in with my concealer instantly adds more coverage. My other advice would be to blend, blend and blend even more! If you have a few acne breakouts instead of going in straight away with a lot of product, apply very thin layers and blend each layer until seamless, then pinpoint stubborn redness. I find this lasts pretty much all day, I have an oily T-zone so if I didn’t use a primer it eventually starts to separate on breakouts, but if you use a mattifying primer and set with powder it should stay in place.
If you are looking for a full coverage concealer, that can multitask, cover blemishes like a dream and you have a little extra to spend. Try the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer.
