Spring Makeup Edit

Just after Christmas I realised that soon the better weather is on its way and that means saying good bye to dark berry lips. I love the berry tones and golds of the winter months. But I was so ready for a spring change up for my makeup. Hello peachy lips, dewy skin and soft eyeshadows. So in today’s post I’m going to show you my top picks in my makeup bag for spring.

I’ll start with base products…

In the spring/summer months when I want to wear foundation I like to go for, a light and dewy finish. My favourite foundation for this is Mac Face and Body. It’s super lightweight and is very build able depending on what coverage I’m going for ( but usually  always light coverage) and I find this foundation is more sweat and oil proof than any other light weight foundations. This helps give you a luminou, dewy base but will still last. For under my eyes before concealer I have been loving using the YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch as it has a pink undertone, it really helps cancel out some of my under eye darkness, but is still light and as the name suggests gives my under eyes some needed radiance. My concealer of choice and my everyday go-to right now, is the NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer it’s perfect for covering blemishes and creamy enough for my under eyes. This has amazing staying power and always blends into the skin effortlessly and looks like my skin.

My holy grail bronzer that to me is just perfect is the Benefit Hoola Bronzer. This bronzer has the perfect mix of warm and cool tones, so I can contour and bronzer in the one go (great for saving time) Also in the spring I tend to go for more peachy/coral blush shades, the NARS Duo-Intensity blush is my favourite (as you can see well loved) it has a lot less pigment and is hard to over do I have the shade frenzy and it’s the perfect peachy, coral shade that looks natural and is great for a fresh wash of colour on your cheeks. You can also use some mac fix plus with the blush to get an almost water colour effect? (I have no idea how to describe it lol) that looks super pretty, stunning for the summer. The Marc Jacobs Glow Stick highlighter is stunning! and because of the creamy formula you literally look like your glowing, anytime I’ve worn this I have gotten complements. This will give you a serious summer glow.

Lately I have either been wearing one eyeshadow all over my lid or eyeliner, but I have been wearing eyeliner more. My favourite to use and possibly the easiest eyeliner to use is the Topshop Magic Liner. The felt tip nib makes it super easy to use, even I can do a wing and I’m usually really bad at it. For mascara The Maybelline The Falsies Push-Up Angle mascara has been my go-to. It gives your lashes amazing length and volume without clumps, and it’s only £7.99! I’m a total Benefit eyebrow product junky. I think Benefit brow products are some of the best you can get, and the packaging is super cute too. The Goof Proof Brow Pencil is super easy to use and fills in the gaps in your brows in seconds. To set my brows in place all day I love the Benefit Ready,Set,Brow, brow gel. This is like super glue for your eyebrows, I always use this if I don’t want my brows to budge all day.

In the spring and summer I like to go for lighter lip products. I tend to steer away from liquid lipsticks and matte lips. Right now I’m totally loving using lip stains. The Benefit Bene-tint is my favourite to use and I have it in mini size too, perfect for on the go. I like to pop bit of the stain on then go in with a lip balm like the EOS lip balm. My lips are then hydrated and the colour lasts on my lips without feeling heavy.
