I love glowing and dewy skin so when I saw that Stila came out with a foundation that had glow in the name I had to get it. The Stila Aqua Glow Serum Foundation is a fairly new foundation, on the back of the box it claims: ” medium to full, buildable coverage with a natural, radiant finish. Advanced mulit-reflective color pigments play with light to instantly even skin tone and reduce the appearance of imperfections. Contains an electolyte balance system, a carefully combined complex of Ionized water, advanced Hyaluronic Acid and essential minerals to help hydrate and norish for skin that glows with healthy radiance. Fragrance-free”.
First off I love the packaging it looks very sleek and high end with the gold and matte plastic bottle that looks like glass. I got the shade FAIR which is a great colour for my skin tone, this foundation comes in ten shades ranging from cool to warm undertones. So there is a great selection for all skin tones. As the name suggests this foundation is very dewy so If you have oily skin you should use a primer especially for making it last all day as it does tend to get oily looking rather than dewy during the day. The best way to apply this foundation to get the maximum coverage is with a dense brush, I like to use the Real techniques sculpting brush. Apply by stippling into the skin I found gave it the fullest coverage, but if you want light coverage use a sponge and it will go in a lot lighter in coverage. I found even though it claims to be a medium to full coverage foundation I would say it’s more a medium coverage, but you can build it. It feels light weight and comfortable to wear and almost feels like you aren’t wearing a foundation. The finish is very dewy and of course makes you look like you have very healthy skin. I would recommend you use a powder to set this foundation in place so it doesn’t transfere and keep oils at bay.
This foundation has a dropper which I think is very handy, the only way to get more after you have used a drop is to screw the lid back on and and unscrew again.
The texture of this foundation is very liquidy and runny, it blends out really well and has a really nice natural finish, at firt it looks very dewy but sets to still be very dewy but has more of a glow instead of looking oily. If you have acne and blemishes this won’t cover them but you may be able to build with a few coats, also this is more suited to normal to dry skins but if you have oily skin wear a primer will help. This foundation costs £32.00.
