Summer Makeup Picks

Summer is almost over, I was clearing out my everyday makeup drawer and I noticed a few products that were always in it. Most of these things I haven’t mentioned in monthly favourites, but I still used them a tonne over the summer.

I’ll start with face products…

In the summer (let’s be honest every day of the year) I love my skin to look like it’s glowing and healthy. One product I really liked using was the Lush Feeling Younger skin tint, I have mentioned this a few times in blog posts that it’s like Mac Strobe Cream but better ingredients for your skin. Most days I applied it on my cheeks, nose, chin and a small amount on my forehead. This helps the foundation glow. The foundation I wore (not very often but when I did it was this one)when I was going out or just feel’n foundation, I use the Stila Aqua Glow foundation. This has some serious glow so if you have oily skin and you want to use this, you will need to use a mattifying primer or be prepared for powder touch-ups. This looks very natural and the shade matches my skin perfectly.

For the rest of my face it generally stayed the same the whole summer, most days I used the Benefit Dew the Hoola liquid bronzer. I like to blend this in with the Real techniques miracle complextion sponge, for the most natural result. Blush I changed it around abit, but once I got the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in ROSE I constantly used it. This has a beautiful glow and adds to the highlight. Of course my favourite highlighter of all time Benefit Watt’s Up, I used everyday by itself or with a powder highlight on top.

For eyes if I wanted my eyes to glow along with my face I used the Kiko single eyeshadow in the shade 139, which is a light pink with champagne glitter. For mascara my go-to has been the Kiko Luxurious lashes mascara which I an really loving right now. For lips most days in the summer I liked to keep it simple and stick to a natural lipgloss, so I use the Benefit Dandelion lip gloss. This smells amazing and feels great on the lips, also because its a travel size I could fit it in any size of bag.
