Summer No-Foundation Makeup

Hi, When it’s summer and it’s too hot to bare any foundation and by the end of the day it’s probably half melted off my face. When this happens (a much rarer occurrence in Scotland mind you) I have my go-to makeup routine that involves no foundation that’s simple and easy but lasts even in the heat.

After I’ve applied moisturiser and SPF because I’m not applying foundation, I use an illuminating primer to make my skin look healthy. Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow is amazing for giving the skin a dewy glow and helps to even skin tone. A heavy duty concealer that lasts in the heat is a must, I chose Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer. This concealer covers redness and stubborn blemishes like a dream, but and also be used under the eyes without looking cakey. When I need some extra help with dark circles Bobbi Brown correcter always delivers and really makes you look more awake.

My fail-safe bronzer/contour is Charlotte Tilbury Film Star Bronze&Glow. This gives a natural sun-kissed look as well as contouring. For blush, Glossier Cloud Paints are my favourite because they look so natural and blend into the skin effortlessly and can withstand the summer heat. Mac Creme Colour Base in the shade Luna is the perfect dewy finish highlighter on its own or layered under powder highlighter for some serious glow.

I like to keep the brows simple by defining the arch and filling in a couple of sparse areas with the Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil and setting in place with Glossier Boy brow for some extra definition. Lastly, because eyeshadow doesn’t last very long on me in hot weather I just pop on some mascara, Glossier Lash Slick is my favourite mascara at the moment. It’s water resistant so it lasts all day with no flaking or smudging and even if you have oily eyelids like me it won’t budge at all.
