The Ordinary: Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

The Ordinary has taken the skin care world by storm! The brand has the most amazing affordable skin care products. I had to give something a go (better late than never!) So, I decided to give the Niacinamide 10% +Zinc 1% a try. On the website, it said it works well with other acne treatments such as benzoyl peroxide, which is what I use for my acne…

I have large pores and oily skin, Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is supposed to help balance sebum activity on your skin, basically, help with oily skin and large pores. I have to say this is a little miracle worker after about a week of using it my pores have very visibly shrunk and my skin is less oily. After two weeks of using it, my pores have almost disappeared and my oily skin isn’t as oily as before (but I still get some oiliness) I have also noticed my skin is looking a lot brighter.  The product isn’t a treatment for acne, however, it helps reduce the appearance of it.  It is also oil-free, alcohol-free, silicone-free, nut-free, cruelty-free and vegan.

It also comes in a really nice glass bottle with a dropper, I feel like this goes well with the brand as it is a more sciencey (I have no idea how to describe it, lol!) way for skin care. The minimal look also feels more high-end.

The formula is thick and gloopy, I apply this in the morning and at night before I apply my moisturizer. It leaves the skin slightly tacky but it does go back to normal once you apply a moisturizer. I only apply a very thin layer, as I feel when you apply too much it doesn’t absorb into the skin properly. Overall I’m pretty impressed, It shrunk my pores, made my skin less oily, brightened and made my skin soft too. I would highly recommend giving this a try if you have acne or blemishes and oily skin, this is a little extra step that does visibly make the skin look and feel healthier. I can’t wait to try more from The Ordinary!
