Top 5 Makeup 2016

In 2016 I discovered lots and lots of new products. But the only problem is that there is so many that this post would be far too long. So I condensed the products into my top 5. I choose my top, concealer, highlighter(sneaked an extra product in!), mascara, eyeshadow palette and finally lip product of 2016.

I wear foundation but not everyday, I always wear concealer to cover blemishes and dark circles. The one concealer I couldn’t live without this year (this is honestly my favourite concealer every!) and probably throughout 2017 too, is the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage concealer.

The formula is just the right consistency to cover blemishes, but it’s not too heavy for under your eyes. This has been my life saver for blemishes and acne in 2016. Every time I ran out (which wasn’t a lot cause it lasts for such a long time) I would panic and have to buy another one because it just made such a difference. It never ever creased under my eyes and lasted all day, I even prime my eyelids with it too. Not to mention it feels and looks sleek and expensive.

Too Faced eyeshadow palettes have incredible pigmentation and the chocolate bar palettes have the most delicious smell. The Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette is my favourite. The eyeshadows are shades that I reach for everyday, with warm browns and stunning glitter/metallic shades. I found myself reaching for this palette everyday especially the shade MARZIPAN which looks gorgeous all over the lid.

I’m obsessed with highlighters! and I think during 2016 highlight was a must (and still is). My favourite combination that I found gave the best glow, was the highlight for the Urban Decay NATIVE Flushed palette over the Benefit Watt’s Up highlighter. This duo packs a serious punch I wore this religiously for around three months straight because I couldn’t find anything to compare. Also the Urban Decay Flushed palette in NATIVE was a go-to as the blush I felt complemented my pale skin really well when used lightly. The bronzer is more for warming up your face than contouring, but I don’t contour everyday. It adds a nice glow to your skin that I especially loved during the summer.

Liquid lipsticks took over 2016, but I still was in love with the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani lipstick in EX-GIRLFRIEND. This is my perfect my lips but better shade, it has the texture of a Mac satin lipstick with tiny micro glitter that you can barely see. I just totally adore this lipstick.

I used a whole lot of mascara during 2016, but the one that I repurchased around four times was the Kiko Milano Extra  Volume Sculpt mascara. This is a great dupe for the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara and a fraction of the price. Doesn’t clump as much as most volume mascaras do. I even get asked if I’m wearing false lashes when I wear this mascara.
