Travel Makeup Bag

I’m starting to think about my holidays as I’m sure many of you are, especially what makeup I’m taking. I have sorted my makeup down to my essentails for travel.

I will start with my base products

First and an essentail not just for hoilday and sun shine time but, for everyday is sun cream. I have used the Clinique Super City Block SPF 40 for about two years now, it has never broken me out or caused any irritation to my skin. this has a slight tint to it so you won’t leave you with a white mask after applying it. Also the added pigment means more protection. This blends nicely in to the skin and has the texture of a thick foundation, although it has no coverage. The Mac Prep+Prime BB Cream SPF 50 is a recent purchase of mine but I have to say I really love it. It has light coverage and doesn’t go orange during the day. As it’s summer I don’t look for alot of coverage because I’m always too hot and my makeup is melting off my face any way, but it Holds up well . The added SPF 50 is also great for summer and can even be used as your face sun cream under a foundation as its so light. The Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer is my favourite concealer of all time, skin like heavy coverage that doesn’t crease on my under eyes and stays even on a makeup melting day.

During the day on holiday I don’t tend to contour or highlight, but in the evenings if I go out for dinner I like to. I have to use my old faithful Benefit Hoola bronzer it is just the perfect shade for contouring and bronzing as it’s not too warm toned. For blush I like to use the Sleek Rose Gold blush as it’s a great dupe for Nars organism blush and the packaging is super sleek and doesn’t take up that much room. Really pretty and natural. The Benefit High Beam is a must to give you that summer glow, this can be mixed into your fondation/ suncream to give you a beautiful glow. It is amazing! as a highlighter and because I have a mini sample size it’s even better for travel.

Eyebrows still have to be on fleek even for my time off, I love to use the l’oreal Brow Artist Plumper as it sticks those brows in place and adds extra colour and fullness. Also a new product of mine is the Smash Box Brow Tech Matte Pencil, it is very pigmented and slim tip so every hair can be drawn on, also very slim packageing means it basically takes up no room in my small makeup bag. The Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer is a must for oily lids and I also Picked it because look how cute the mini size is. It counteracts discolouration slighly but keeps shadows on all day. The Eyeko Black Magic Mascara it a good mascara to hold a curl and also to define the lashes. you can build to give a more dramatic effect or just one coat or the day.

As most palettes take up a bit of room in a makeup bag, I choose the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette and the Smash Box mini Full Exposure palette. The naked basics has all the mattes I will ever need and a great highlight shade and of course a super pigmented balck. The full exposure palete has gorgeous shimmer shades that are perfect for taking your makeup from day to night and also includes four matte shades. Not to mention the small and compact packaging of both palettes and slip right into my makeup bag.

I think you have to have plenty of options with lips, as lips can take your look to the next level. I always have to include  a lip balm, gloss and atleast two lipsticks. The EOS  lip balm in sweet mint is my fav EOS as it makes your lips tingle when you apply it and also moisturises your lips. For gloss the NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brûlée  is a perect pink gloss that is creamy and non stick and great to put on top of lipsticks for a super glossy sheen. Day time I like to go with a gloss or natural pink lip, I choose the Maybelline lipstick in stellar pink as it is a pink/mauve with shimmer (very subtle shimmer) a bit darker than my natural lip colour but can be wore lightly or be built up. Also the formula for these lipsticks are so good for drugstore. Mac lipstick Yash is one of my most worn and also very long lasting, I wanted a matte lipstick that wasn’t too drying but had a Kylie Jenner feel to it. So I choose Yash it is a lighter Velvet Teddy and much more suited for my very pale skin tone. Very comfortable to wear and looks great with NYX Creme Brûlée on top.

All of the makeup I’m planning to take with me on holiday fit snug into my small makeup bag, that is actually from a Lynx gift set.
